Bob Vermillion, CPP, Fellow, is a Certified ESD & Product Safety Engineer-iNARTE® and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the mitigation of Triboelectrification for Space, Lunar and Mars surfaces. One of Vermillion’s developments was Mars Mission approved. A former NASA Academy of Aerospace Quality Advisory Board SME for Auburn University, Vermillion is an invited speaker for NASA, DoW and Industry related events, recently presented with the distinguished iNARTE® Excellence in Engineering Award in 2025.

For the 2018 NASA QLF, Vermillion was named the ESD Technical Authority for the Agency. That same year, Bob was recipient of the James A. Russell Lifetime Achievement Award for Packaging Engineering Innovation for Protection of the WarFighter. As a long-standing member and contributor to the NASA ESD InterAgency Working Group (IAWG-ESD), Bob was inducted into the DoD Military Packaging Hall of Fame in 2019.

In response to the need for a Space & Defense ESD Certified Engineer/Technician Certification with global recognition, Vermillion developed a uniquely designed yet practical and interactive ESD training program for compliance of ESD advanced materials in extreme environments and low RH on land, air, sea and space for the U S Military, Space Force and NASA.

The RMV Space & Defense iNARTE® Training Directorate provides an onsite and virtual platform for engineers and technicians to earn iNARTE® credentials from Exemplar Global, an independent certification body and member of the ASQ family of companies. NASA, DoW, DOE and the contracting community can choose from several iNARTE® certified short courses in addition to earning the most prestigious credential as an iNARTE® Space & Defense ESD Engineer or Technician by participation in the 5-day hands on interactive onsite or virtual training with college and work experience as required by Exemplar Global.

Vermillion is CEO/Chief Technology Officer of RMV Technology Group, LLC, a NASA Industry Partner and 3rd Party ESD Materials Testing, Training and Consulting Company. Bob Vermillion can be reached at bob@esdrmv.com or 650-964-4792, or www.esdaerospacetraining.org
